London Excellence Awards
London Excellence, a not-for-profit organisation, is pleased to announce the 18 finalists and highly commended organisations that are through to the final stage of the London Excellence Awards 2007. The winners will be presented with the prestigious and much sought after trophies at a gala dinner and awards ceremony at Carisbrooke Hall in London on 16 July.
Now in its third year, the London Excellence Awards 2007 attracted entries from a variety of sectors: housing, construction, facilities management, education, and justice and legal. The finalists and highly commended include City & Guilds London, Costain Ltd, Portico Corporate Reception Management and Tower 42. The competing organisations share the same passion, which is to be recognised as performing to world-class excellence standards.
The finalists entered one of the following categories - eight themed categories, three Best in Sector and the Blue Riband Award For Best Investor in Excellence - all covering every aspect of quality. The judging process was rigorous and robust. Entries were scrutinised by over 50 business leaders, who have been trained to assess against the concepts underpinning the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Business Excellence Model – the management framework used to assess an organisation's progress towards achieving excellence, and enabling it to identify key strengths and potential areas for improvement.
London Excellence believes its assessment model for the Awards is uniquely probing of an organisation's quality.
Caroline Buttery, Chairman of London Excellence, says: "The Awards are a great opportunity to recognise excellence, regardless of an organisation's size or sector. Many organisations enter the Awards as an opportunity to benchmark their efforts against other companies and learn more about best practice within the business community. Our finalists and highly commended have set a fantastic example for all organisations committed to the journey to excellence."
